Howard Kidorf became a managing partner of Pioneer Consulting after over 20 distinguished years in the submarine cable industry. Kidorf began his career with AT&T Submarine Systems at AT&T Bell Laboratories. There, he was responsible for a wide variety of activities that have brought him a unique and varied collection of skills. From operations software, to the design responsibility for the first optically amplified repeaters, to the first demonstrations of ultra-long-haul DWDM, Kidorf has been responsible for pushing forward the technology of submarine systems. Kidorf has also been an important spokesman for technology to the submarine system marketplace. Once the director of technical marketing for TyCom, he has been responsible for translating the impact of technology choices on the all important bottom line: cost, schedule and quality/reliability. As the principal of the consulting firm Kidorf Innovative Methods, he has brought his skills to bear of the problems of many clients both in the commercial and military sectors.
