New Owners Promise Additional Capital to Provide New Products & Services to Clients

February 28, 2006 - BOSTON, Massachusetts - Pioneer Consulting LLC announced today a change of ownership and management that reflects renewed confidence in the telecom sector and increased demand for market research and customized consulting services.

Established in 1997, Pioneer Consulting is a highly regarded international market research and analysis firm specializing in worldwide broadband fixed and wireless telecommunications networks and technologies.

The new co-owners are industry professionals with complementary skills and experience in a broad range of telecom environments. Julian Rawle was Senior Market Analyst at Pioneer for the last five years, having previously worked with Cable & Wireless and Global Marine Systems Ltd. Howard Kidorf is President and Founder of submarine fiber optic consulting firm, Kidorf Innovative Methods, and in the past, held various technical and management positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Tyco Telecommunications.

"Our collaboration, combining a strategic understanding of market dynamics with technical expertise in optical networking and transmission, is going to enable Pioneer to provide even better insight into key market and technology trends," explained Julian Rawle, “This means that we will be able to deliver a broader and deeper range of services to meet our clients' needs."

Since 2001, Rawle has researched and published a number of major reports on the submarine fiber optics industry, forecasting supply and demand, and analyzing competitor positions. He has also led project teams to deliver customized research for a broad client base. Lately, Rawle has led the company’s research into emerging wireless technologies, including Software-Defined Radio, Wireless Backhaul, and WiMAX.

Managing Partner, Howard Kidorf, commented, "While some are still focused on the long-past telecom bubble implosion, we saw an opportunity in the resurgence of certain telecommunications market sectors and are eager to re-launch Pioneer Consulting with a new strategic focus and the added depth from combining our respective capabilities."

Kidorf brings to Pioneer more than 20 years' experience in the telecom transmission marketplace, much of which was gained in submarine fiber optics R&D. He has authored more than 35 technical papers, contributed to four text books, and been awarded 12 patents in areas ranging from design and analysis of submarine fiber optic systems and optical transmission equipment in general, to Raman amplifiers, erbium amplifiers, and manufacturing systems. Since leaving Tyco Telecommunications in 2002, Kidorf has managed a successful business, consulting both military and civilian clients in the field of optical transmission.

The new management team at Pioneer Consulting expects to publish a number of reports this year addressing key dynamics in the fixed and mobile telecom industry and is also participating in a number of major consulting contracts. As the business grows, Pioneer expects to commence a recruitment drive for additional analysts by the end of this year.
